A priest’s house built at a Buddhist temple in the mountains of Japan. The beautiful roof appears to float like a vail or a folded piece of origami over the internal space. The roof and supports are made from concrete, chosen for its durability. Whilst the internal elements are made from wood, allowing for a flexible use and the opportunity to rebuild the structure if needs change. The juxtaposition of the permanent and the temporary combine to form a stunning piece of architecture.
